Frequently asked questions
The product, the plans and how your data is handled — answers to the questions that come up most often.
The product
What is Lumohub, exactly?
An online management service for freelancers and self-employed professionals: invoicing (including e-invoicing over the Peppol network), expense and worked-day tracking, clients and contracts, estimates for VAT, social contributions and income tax, financial steering and assistance features. The point: knowing at any moment what is really left once everything is paid, and never discovering a deadline the day before.
Which countries is Lumohub up to date for?
Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands — rates, contributions and rules kept up to date per country. You can of course invoice clients anywhere in Europe: the VAT number is checked automatically via VIES.
Am I compliant with mandatory e-invoicing?
Yes. Since January 2026, every Belgian B2B invoice must go through the Peppol network. Peppol sending and receiving are included in every plan: 12 sends and 12 supplier invoices received per year on Starter, 25 and 25 on Pro, no limit on Expert or with the Unlimited Peppol add-on. An invoice received beyond the quota stays listed, locked, until a larger quota covers it. Sending and receiving go through a certified access point (Recommand), and the status of every send is visible in the app.
Does Lumohub replace my accountant?
No, and that is not the goal. Lumohub is neither an accounting firm nor a tax advisor: it keeps your figures up to date all year and hands your accountant a clean export (UBL, PDF, CSV) — less back-and-forth, lower fees. Dedicated accountant access is included in Expert and available as an add-on (4.99 €/month excl. VAT) on the other plans.
Are the amounts shown exact?
They are estimates, and they are labelled as such in the app. The amounts calculated and the recommendations — including those from the AI assistant — are indicative: they are based on the data you enter and on the public rates in force. They are not personalized advice and do not replace an accredited professional; you remain solely responsible for your declarations.
Billing and payment
How does the free trial work?
14 days of full Expert access, no credit card. The trial does not automatically convert into a paid subscription: at the end, you pick a plan. Without a subscription the account is paused — your data stays intact, readable and exportable, and everything resumes the moment you subscribe.
What does each plan include, and what does it cost?
Starter — 14.99 €/month excl. VAT: the Copilot and Management packs — dashboard and alerts, computed advice and levers, clients and contracts, invoices and quotes, expenses with PDF reading, timesheet, documents and Peppol (12 sends and 12 receptions a year), 1 active client, 1 GB of storage. Pro — 39.99 €/month excl. VAT: everything in Starter, plus the Finances pack (the Finances page, your pay and its statement, the cash flow forecast) and the Provisions pack (VAT, contributions and advance payments, what to set aside, tax alerts by e-mail) — 5 active clients, 25 Peppol sends and 25 receptions a year, 5 GB. Expert — 69.99 €/month excl. VAT: every pack — on top, Reminders (unpaid invoices chased, a reminder to the client 3 days before the due date), Invoicing (Peppol without a quota, branded invoices, one-off invoices), Accountant (accountant access, legal export, activity report), unlimited Storage, Prospecting and AI (personalised advice, AI reading of documents), unlimited clients. Billed annually, two months are free: 149.9 €, 399.9 € and 699.9 € per year. Full details on the Pricing page.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Subscriptions, monthly and annual alike, carry no commitment and can be cancelled at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. Prices may change, but any modification is announced at least 30 days before it takes effect.
How does payment work?
Subscriptions and add-ons are billed via Stripe, which is PCI-DSS certified. Lumohub never stores your card details. All prices shown are excluding VAT.
Can I add options without changing plan?
Yes: four packs can be added on their own to any plan, straight from the app. Monthly — Accountant: your accountant's access, the legal export and the activity report (4.99 €); Invoicing: Peppol without a quota, sending and receiving, branded invoices and one-off invoices (5.99 €); Reminders: unpaid invoices chased and a reminder before the due date (3.99 €); Storage: +10 GB (2.99 €). One-time — the annual file: the legal export of your data and the certified activity report (9.99 €). Prices excluding VAT.
Data and security
Where is my data hosted?
In the European Union. Hosting and storage are provided by Scaleway, in data centres located in the EU. Only the AI features (Anthropic) and the subscription payment (Stripe) may process data in the United States, under the safeguards the GDPR provides — the details are in the privacy policy. On top of that: encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords (bcrypt), two-factor authentication available, and strict per-user data separation. See the Security page.
Who else has access to my data?
Only strictly necessary providers, within the framework of the GDPR: Scaleway (hosting and storage, EU), Stripe (subscription payment), Brevo (transactional emails), Recommand (access point to the Peppol network) and Anthropic (AI features: the help chat on every plan, personalised advice from the Pro plan, document reading on the Expert plan — none of it is used to train models). The details are in the privacy policy.
How long is my data kept?
For as long as your account exists. If you request deletion, erasure is permanent after a 30-day withdrawal period — after that nothing is kept. An account left without a subscription for more than 2 years is warned by email, then erased the same way. Export your invoices and documents beforehand (certified ZIP archive included in Expert): the legal retention duty is yours, not ours. We keep only our own subscription invoices, for our own accounting. Technical logs are kept for 90 days.
Is my data mine? Can I get it back?
Yes. The data you save remains your property. The app has a built-in full export of your data and an account deletion request (Settings → Account), and your documents export to UBL, PDF and CSV for your accountant. You also have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability.
